| Characters: Eva mashup |
| Here's an Eva mashup shown with the Archbi Tunnels.
For the time being, it represents a screenshot of Epochs. It's shown in the JHF site.

| misc: Vue and... |
| Vue 5 Infinite might seriously join the repertoire of JHF. Yesterday, I started playing with cell-shading in Vue to find that it can totally generate cartoony effects, from cartoon-shading to genuine black-white chiarascuro. Today, I tried creating an actual scene with a little red pagoda-house in it. An image says a thousand words, and to think that it took me less than an hour to design it on first try:

Ack!!! To think that when I started out, I'd wanted to limit myself to budget software like Poser and SketchUp...
Why do I always have to take things so seriously?

| Episode 1: Storyboards |
The Storyboard for Episode 1 is actually a collection of files containing animated keyframes and temp sound clips - sans real music and pro acting. The scenes and subscenes are all numbered according to the respective .fla file and the productionEva.doc document. The convention is 0302 for Scene 3, Subscene 2. Here are the pieces:
- Scene 1 Subscenes
- Scene 2 Subscenes
- Scene III
- Scene IV
See productionEva.doc for further placement details.
More to come as things fall together. :)

| Episode 1: Scene 1.01 |

The opening scene showing the statue of Centaur Ina atop the Old City Hall Tower now has a cityscene in the background. The moonlit sky's designed in Vue 5 Infinite, the city's blocked in SketchUp, and the fog is hand-matte-painted using Photoshop. Download the .zip contaiing both fla and swf here.

| Centaurina.com: Films.JacklineHunter.com & Game Plan |
| Yesterday, I registered JacklineHunter.com. Jackline Hunter Films (JHF) will be the production company for this series.
Though I've mentioned that I'd outsource the project to hire (at least) tweeners to help me smooth out the animations, I've yet to actively search for qualified people. I believe one crucial part in my search will be my salespitch and tactic.
I'd be honest in my salespitch. JHF is a production company headed by an award-winning writer who would actually go into the nitty gritty of both the tech and animation -- it's also one of the first Flash cartoon companies utilizing 3d software to do pre-viz and quasi-streamlining (quasi, because some postwork of hand-tracing in Flash is required). The tactic is to wow prospective tweeners and artists with a neato preview spiel (which I will make, soon, hopefully by October). The payout will be by percentage.
Until then, it's 1) JHF site establishment time and 2) preview-spiel time. (Yay -- I won't be limited in art to just Episode 1!) I might fill in a few missing subscenes in Scenes 1 and 2, but Episode 1 production will be on Hiatus for the next few months.

| Santa Rina: MUNU - Municipal Ultra |
Don't forget the MUNU. The Santa Rina Municipal Ultra - Santa Rina's ultra-fast public transportation. (Note: MUNU logo looks disjoint because Sant Rina's streets often end in deadends.)

| Santa Rina: BAST - Bay Area Speedy Transport |
There's a BAST station next to the Old Town Hospital. Incidentally, this isn't a typo of BART -- those of you in the in-group know that I'm basically replacing San Francisco (in location but not in city) with Santa Rina, so I'm keeping certain bay-area telltale landmarks and services more or less as is. Incidentally, BAST is also the name of an Egyptian god. What a cool extra twist, and all the more reason to name the Santa Rina Bay Area transportation system BAST.

| Characters: Mage Proverbs |
| I've actually done a bit more with Tenakotakinai (Kinai) than the excel file I posted a long while ago. It's definitely becoming a mix of Latin, French, Taiwanese and Japanese. I'd update the Gossameir Languages Archive with a Kinai dictionary class in the nxt few days.
All verbs in their natural infinite form end in n, this form is also the same as first person singular (which goes to say the selfishness of mages is embedded in their language). Just one conjugation. Tenses are added in the middle, after the stem, before the person designation. (For first person singular, it's just added as a suffix.) Things involving power and strength and the horrible tend to start with a n or k. (Yes, to know is a terrible thing.)
Here's a straight-forward translation of a Kinai Proverb:
#1:
In English:
We all know the fury of the mage:
It will bring us to victory,
But, we shall end in doom
If we cannot control it.
In Kinai:
Kin all aenegasis:
Winzini turai victare,
Kot, minziai in yenaka
Si f'tekenshinai turi.
